What is workers' compensation insurance?

Employees who suffer any injuries or illnesses as a direct result of their employment can receive workers' compensation insurance, also known as workers' compensation insurance, which covers their medical care costs and lost wages. In almost all U.S. states, workers' compensation policies are required by law to protect employees and cover their wages and medical bills in the event of a workplace-related injury.

What does workers compensation cover?

Employee Liability

Worker's compensation insurance can cover legal expenses associated with a lawsuit filed by an employee after suffering a workplace injury or illness, regardless of whether the claim is valid.

Medical Expenses

In the event that a worker is injured or becomes ill on the job, a worker's compensation policy may provide coverage for medical expenses and lost wages.

Survivor Benefits

A workers' compensation policy would generally cover the beneficiaries entitled to cash benefits in the event of a fatality among an employee's co-workers.
